Here’s How We can Lower the Cost of Living: SDP’s Policy Launch

The SDP will propose concrete ways on how to keep the cost of living down for Singaporeans. This will take place in a major policy announcement which will be unveiled next Saturday, 16 March.

The rising cost of living is a major concern for Singaporeans. Already one of the most expensive cities in the world, the PAP has recently piled on the misery for the people by raising, or proposing to raise, prices on a slew of goods and services.

These include:

  1. Water
  2. Carpark
  3. ERP
  4. Town Council
  5. Careshield
  6. Electricity
  7. Gas
  8. Bus
  9. Kindergarten
  10. University
  11. Polytechnic
  12. ITE
  13. GST
  14. Sugar
  15. Carbon emission
  16. Digital services
  17. Diesel

Note: All these increases came after GE 2015. During the elections, Mr Lee Hsien Loong promised: “That’s why we work with you to solve your problems like cost of living, how we can make your lives better, not quite burden (sic), lighter.”

The SDP’s proposals to lower the cost of living will ease the financial burden on Singaporeans from all walks of life including the youth, housewives, parents, retirees, and businesses.

This is the first of a series of policies that the Party will launch and/or update in the coming months as we endeavour to be a responsible and constructive opposition party. The initiative was announced at our Campaign Kick-Off held last month.

The policy launches will culminate in the publication of a landmark manifesto that will comprise a comprehensive and detailed proposal of alternative ideas in key sectors such as education, housing, population growth, healthcare, the economy, the Malay community, ministerial salaries, and town council planning.

We believe this is the first if its kind in Singapore’s political history.

The aim of this exercise is to paint a scenario of an alternative vision for Singapore, one that is compassionate, inclusive and, most important, sustainable. Our intention is to give Singaporeans a reason to vote for the SDP, and not just against the PAP, at the next GE.

So please join us at the launch. All are welcome.

Event: Launch of SDP’s Cost of Living Policy
Date: 16 March 2019, Saturday

In Singapore, there are 7 out of 10 working adults holding various Uni degree and the rest with some other qualification. In 2015, some of these people were still in colleges, tuition fee paid by the parents. They knew nothing about cost of living. Now these people are working, hopefully they know what’s cost of living and smart enough to tell what causing these!

After this coming GE, there will be an increase of 2% on GST and many other fee hikes. Well let’s see how smart Singaporeans are, any better than the Malaysians?

    I am praying!!

  • Parents to tell kids:

As long as they are staying in their parents shelter, they wouldn’t understand and treat the shelter like hotel. They don’t pay water, electricity, cable TV, gas, air-con, conservancy charges etc….

Parents must make them understand it to feel the PAIN. OR until they about to get married [grumpy face], married [dead face].

    Simple maths here.

The MORE VOTES THE PAP GETS,THE HIGHER THE COL as they will collect more money from you.

So to reduce COL,DONT GIVE THEM YOUR VOTES.

Regime change is the only way to solve the cost of living problem. Why? Because PAP will never change.

I have a friend whose daughter just started a family, she asked why the PUB bill was so high and why everything have to pay.

While staying with the parents, she thought her father prints money, could paid for everything in the household. Now she knows how hard it was for the parents.

Only if she knew it was caused by the PAP!!

  • FreeSingaporeParty:

Many Singaporeans are still in their slumber land.

They don’t understand that the PAP is taking all our money in the CPF and only funding those things that benefit PAP members, grass root leaders, SMEs, foreigners and tourist.

Look at hos much they are spending on community centres, airports and Orchard Road. And paying ministers, MPs and top civil servants high pay.

If we don’t vote the PAP out this election, we are doomed and I won’t bother to come to websites like Tremeritus and TOC to read and comment.

  • Eyes on ballot box!:

Will this be copied by the public enemy?
So many Singaporeans live in poverty aka 47% are low income earners unable to retire and the unaccounted for long term unemployed and housewives.

Yet, why ao few voted against PAP ?
I think this is worth international study to find out why.

    I have my own hypothesis.
    That’s all I can say.

    For fear for my life.

YES. we hoped it was GE2015. it didn’t take place. we hope it is GE2019. maybe yes this time. maybe not.

BUT all dynasties die sooner or later due to same kind of rot seen in clown pap. where the elites load up on the good life at the expense of 70% sheep. even the kiasi and kiasu will have it up to their throat and finally turn around and depose. a matter of timing. we are old. but we have this hope to see New Government in Spore indicting all the existing clown pap Ljs and Cbs for theft before we face pap departed lky on the other and kick his lying balls for producing a lying piece of shit.

  • Rmb to protect ur ideas:

Just rmb to protect ur good ideas (reposting and resharing when the GE approaches nearer and nearer). Sure gt some PAP spy down there collect the good ideas and promote as their own in the coming GE again.

The Clown’s son is now being given publicity and one step in his introduction to politics and may become Minister soon.

This proves that the Clown younger brother and sister were right in saying that the Clown is trying to create a dynasty. All the Government’s action so far concerning the dead trait*r PM leads to this conclusion.

VTO–the only way to be free from the yolk of the PAP.
