Where are all the ‘sufficient’ masks?

I am a senior citizen (Merdeka Gen) with many illness such as Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and Heart problem. This afternoon I went to Bedok North Centre to try to buy some face masks. I was shock that NTUC, Guardian and several Medical shops do not have any face mask available.

The government said the we have sufficient face mask in stock. Then why do these retailers do not have them ? The government also mentioned that they are providing 300,000 face mask to taxi drivers and PHV drivers. Why the discrimination ? why don’t give to the people who need it most ?

To make matter worse, how come a China Singer who was in Singapore recently managed to purchase 160,000 face masks and sent them over to China ? There should be some form of control for strategic items and not allow the suppliers to just export them to China when we do not even have enough mask for our own people use.

This only show the the current PAP leaders do not have the ability to anticipate future problems unlike LKY and his men.

Time to Vote out these hopeless leaders.

Best that such patients can go to their nearby Polyclinics to get the essential items to protect themselves.

I suspect the SG gov has oversighted masks contingency; unlike rice and other essential materials where they keep substantial holding. It is also strange that each household is given only 4 masks and not by the number of family members. It is also appalling to advise citizens not to wear mask even it is well known to spread through community and airborne. It is perhaps gov’s failure to keep substantial holding of masks as part of the national defense.

Years back they asked civil servants to convert their medical scheme to co payment. They pushed very hard.

But how many ministers and MPs converted? Few or none I Guess.

How many mask is enough? If there is a stock pile, you will not get your hands on it. Peoples Association members first, every one else get in line. Then comes the rules–as ridiculous as they come. just like the election for President. No one qualifies except their chosen one.

So why blame people for stockpiling? People don’t want to be subjected to rules and be humiliated after standing in line for days. So stockpiling is the answer.

If you obey the ignorant and believe their lies then you will be the sacrifice–just like those on the cruise ship. Those healthy people on the cruise ship are waiting to get infected by those who are already infected. Any noise from the Red Cross? Zilch.

So Polyclinic should issue you a free mask when you step into the clinic even if you are already wearing one because your mask already has germs, virus, soiled, etc. To protect the clinic staff and people inside like what PAP MP said?
When you leave, the polyclinic should issue you another new mask, because the one the clinic issued to you that you are wearing is already contaminated.

PAP shouldnt use public resources like Mediacorp to discourage or even presurize people from wearing masks just because there are and going to have shortage of masks.
