Humbling experience

Yesterday morning when I was on my way to a Singapore Pools betting outlet to place my 4D bets, I encountered a very humbling experience and I must share it with fellow netizens.

I walked along a row of shops below a HDB block and as I approached the lift lobby, a middle aged decent looking man stopped me and asked if I could pay for his food. He told me that he was hungry. He didn’t ask me for cash. I took a quick glance at him and asked why isn’t he working but later feeling quite stupid with myself for asking such a question during a time like now.

I replied yes and there was no further conversation between us. He walked in front of me into a coffee-shop which was about 2 metres away and ordered 2 roti-prata kosong. I handed $2/ to the stall holder, said thank you and left.

I could imagine that he must have swallowed tremendous pride and it must also have taken him tremendous courage to ask that favour from a stranger.

As I walked away, I couldn’t help but looked back at him again, sitting at a table and waiting for his food. Many thoughts ran through my mind. I walked back to him and gave him another $2/ and asked him to get himself a cup of coffee too.

I wish him well. May God bless that man and his family. He would rather swallowed humble pie than choose to commit crime. Many people and families whom we don’t know are having a very difficult time now.

Lhl, Goh Chok Tong and those millionaire pap ministars need to realise and learn that by heart. This is something that lvy league universities are not likely to teach those self proclaimed aristocrats, book-smart scholars, generals and those priveleged people.

Think.

People who get the PAP tickets into parliament are there to advance their career.

Serving the people is just incidental & at times a big inconvenience.

So if this is the kickoff intention of these PAP parliamentarians, don’t expect any heart emotions from them.

Even lhl himself was thrust into this great & extremely well paid job by his old man.
It surely didn’t birthed from this great idealogy of serving the country & the people.

It was 1st to himself, his family, & his cronies.

PAP philosophy is ‘the poor will always be poor, the rich must be supported’

Even lky spoke about it long ago.

Today even after decades in power, it was never about the people but only his people.

  • Halimah Totally USELESS:

What would you expect the PAP to respond to a post like this ?
They’ll put out a template statement – we have schemes to help the poor and the needy blah blah blah
And then do the push around, sending you here and there.

Ask Vivian, he’ll ask you what do you want, have a meal in a hawker centre, coffee show or a restaurant.

Let me share with you a real experience.

I noticed there are seven dish collectors at the food-court. There are doing somethings, like clearing the dishes and plates and clean up the table for the next diners..

I confirmed with the workers there are the 7 of them, (aunties and uncles) doing the same during the morning peak period.
    =
So I purposely bought 7 units of the kopi-thiam cards and updated another $30 to each card. total is about $210 + $14 = $224. ($2.oo per card (new).

I gave it to the store attendant,(lady) who was happened to be manning the coffee stall. I told this lady to pass these 7 units of the kopithiam card to each of them and do not reveal to them who is the sponsor.

After a few weeks, I went back to the same food-court to have my break-fast. While I was queueing up for my coffee. This same lady just told the aunty, that I was the the sponsor. I deny it that I am not the ones.

I really feel that these aunties and uncles really appreciate what they get and thank me profusely.

Just want to make them happy and hope they are fine

    well done, bro.

we used to do it without thinking.

after GE2015, we stopped. because we don’t know who is who, meaning who is voting pap and who is not voting pap.

we never vote pap. we have never voted pap. we never will. although humans are more or less the same, we are the ones who will not lift a finger for anyone who votes pap.

  • Do more:

Need to do more for many who are suffering in this Covid crisis.
Especially those who are left out by the various scheme.
Need to make good that no Singaporean is left behind in this crisis or it will be just an empty slogan.
Need to simplify the paperwork required to get any help from MSF or any subsidy with MOH Mean Test…
Now too inflexible and messy….wasting resources and time.

  • Do more:

Need to do more many Singaporean who are suffering under this Covid 19 crisis.
Should make it easier for them to get help. Not easy to survive here if they are short of cash.
MSF need to be more flexible when giving out help. Not stick to rule attitude.
One suggestion is to give all those who are jobless a allowance of $800 pm for 6 months.
To help local companies and the economy, all Singaporean above 18 should be given $300 vouchers to be spend here.Give Option to opt out for those who do not need it.
