Another victim of scammers

Another elderly victim has fallen prey to scammers and lost a whopping 1 million SGD of her life savings. She isn’t the first and she will not be the last. It is inconceivable but the fact is that she is only one of the >100 scam victims who has fallen prey to scammers since January this year. It is scary to think that we are only in April.

I ask myself 2 questions. They are one, am I surprised that such crimes are increasing among our population and two, if I were a scammer, would I target equally rich elderly Malaysians, HK residents, Indonesians or even Taiwanese seniors etc?

My answers are one, I am not surprised at all and two, I will only target rich Singaporeans or more precisely suckerporeans because they are much easier meats and Singapore is a fast aging population. Let me explain.

Generally speaking and basing on my personal experiences, rich foreigners are largely much more street-smart and wiser than our suckerporeans. Many scammers passed themselves off as some ‘Government Officials’ to give their suckerporeans victims an initial but big psychology intimidation, fear or even submission although it may sound unbelievable and many people may even argue or dispute it but the bottom line is that it works.

It is a very effective and easy trick and trap because Singaporeans grow up in an environment that worship, fear and hold their government in awe and thus, anything that comes from the ‘Zheng Hu’ is often viewed by too many meek and unthinking suckerporeans as a decree, holy, incapable of any failing and must be obeyed.
Too many suckerporeans have been subconsciously conditioned over many years until they have lost that inborn questioning curiosity and jungle survival instincts. It is a very big jungle out there. Such tricks and traps are unlikely to work half as effective on foreigners.

Furthermore, not just elderly persons were targeted but highly educated professionals have bitten the dust too and the main reasons for their sorry plights can be narrowed down to either ignorance, greed or fear or a combination of the mentioned and scammers are masters at playing those games. They will exploit those human vulnerabilities maximally and ruthlessly.

People guard their privacy, especially their money matter jealousy but still as children and relatives, we must constantly remind our seniors of such developments. Banks, financial organisations, insurance companies and the CPF Board etc must flag any suspicious requests or transactions early. If this requirement is not made into law yet, then this pap government is definitely slow to act in the face of a new, clear and obvious challenge. Sustainable public education must not be overlooked too.

Lastly, cross border governmental co-operation must be stepped up earnestly and related punishments must be enhanced to include canning for offenders.

Think.

The PAP self praise huge achievement of political development for the last 50 years – a PAP Master Class of degradation of SGpns humanness, an inability to be able to think on their own without being influence by the PAP lies and frauds, by half truths and alternative facts.

If ever there is an in depth study into the anthropological development of the SG societal race – its very certain the stunted development of the SG race is so apparent one can can feel so obnoxious how on earth can SG remain as a functioning country (and exactly why the PAP shun locals so much for so many 10s of years, in praise of foreigners helping SG, to participate as drivers, retail assistants, teachers, as Police, to build roads, to build schools, to conduct banking, to even run SG Pools).

Reported on the TISG :Quote-”Over 500 Rohingya refugees fled their detention centre in Malaysia today (April 20).

The Immigration Department said 528 of them escaped after breaking a block door and barrier grill at a temporary detention centre in northern Penang.

However, 362 of them have been rearrested by police and other agencies, who were deployed immediately to look for them.

“The search for the remaining detainees is continuing,” said the Immigration department in a statement.

Details on what sparked the breakout are still unknown.

According to Penang police chief Mohamad Shuhaily Mohamad Zain six detainees were killed while trying to cross the highway. Two men, two women and two youngsters, a boy and a girl.

Although Malaysia doesn’t grant refugee status, the country currently houses 180,000 refugees and asylum seekers accredited with the UNHCR, including more than 100,000 Rohingya and other Myanmar ethnic groups.

Many of these Rohingyas who unfortunately have no official status stay within their own communities and work cheaply for local businesses without much assimilation with the locals.

Despite all the hardship and risk, many Rohingyas seem to prefer Malaysia rather than its neighbour Indonesia and continue to arrive in droves illegally by sea, remaining undocumented…..”Unquote.

Response : Beware ,all these Rohingyas activist come over to Singapore to scam off the charities money to fight their myanmar military junta !

There is a story (unsure it’s origin, fake or true unknown, risk POFMA-able) of a General of the SAF fought battles and won wars, on paper.

How boses felt rightful to reward him with, to manage 2 gold mines, the SPH and the SG National Shipping line (a nat shipping line is vy important bcz in times of war for instance, they are requisited to transport the National Army and its equipment), who once owned the prestigious MIGHTY American President Lines.

Presumably he was expected to enhance and prosper the 2 gold mines to mine more gold

  • Don't be greedy and you won't:

I know of legal scams. They recruit young people, then get them sell investments to their relatives and friends. Your guard is let down because you know and trust this person because he/she is your relative or good friend. See how easy it is!

You get your first payout – quite a lot. So you happy like fiack and continue. Some even upsize their investments. Then you get a handsome second payout. You congratulate yourself for making a wise decision and thank your relative and friend for this kang tau.

A few months after the investments are made, company goes into bankruptcy. The company will tell you to try to get your money back. Submit documents, go through lawyers appointed to get your money back. But always no results or negative news.

The sellers of these investments are also victims. Because the company they worked for are legitamate or appear to be and everything checked out.

Don’t be greedy and you won’t be scammed.

  • Harder Truths:

Either people take responsibility for their own actions or they don’t.
If $inkies want the government to be fully in charge of people’s money then fine – let the government take all your money and give you only what you need for expenses.

Otherwise $inkies learn to stop doing stupid things with their money. The rest of $inkies do not owe these scammed a living. That’s life. Deal with it.

you noticed or not, most (if not 100%) of the FT imports come from countries whose people are not so gong gong and have street smartness and the hunger to fight – perhaps learned from protests and demonstrations and not-so-structured-environment back home ??

here, we daft sinkies trust the white monkeys too much so that they can import FTs from their open-leg policy so that daft sinkies can learn from them all the ‘street smartness’ (aka chat-ha-lang behaviors ??) ???
