We finally now know the no. of work permits’ PMETs

Don’t you find it rather interesting there are 46,800 PMET jobs held by Work Permit holders?

In this connection, why are these people not holding S-passes instead, whose minimum salary of $2,500 is, arguably, quite low for a PMET?

Does this mean that there may be about 46,800 foreign PMETs earning less than $2,500 a month?

To what extent are they pushing down the wages of local PMETs?

    The numbers are too skeptical.
Eye-balling the number of non-sgs on the trains n at office lift lobbies seem to contradict the stats furnished here.
Plus the number of food delivery-boys/girls,etc.
These numbers do not include *PRs* holding job$?
    Nothing to see here,really.
    Why leong even bother?

Pappies’ wayang/kelong definition of Employee categories – PM was corrupted to PME, which was then corrupted to PMET, which was then corrupted such that “T” included anyone with a “valid” educational cert. Then they say the number of “PMET” jobs have increased over the years.

Quality of our Imported PMET: Previously coy I worked in, encountered a south asian WP holder. After overseeing repair of a motor, I left it to the workers to reassemble it. As I left, saw the worker using his HANDS to tighten the mounting screws of the motor to the baseplate. So I advised him to use a spanner instead – “to be safe”. He came back with ONE spanner, using his left hand to hold the nut and his right hand using the spanner to tighten the bolt. I asked him if his left hand is strong enough, he looked at me and changed his RIGHT hand to hold the nut and left hand to work the spanner. I looked at his supervisor and supervisor looked back at me – both shake our heads. At this worker’s wedding (which coy allowed him to take one month off to go back home), he was projected as an “Engineer”.

Why you care ? To quote from your Communist Cheating Party (CCP):
White cat or black cat, as long as can catch rats, is good cat.
Singaporeans or foreigners, as long as can help Singapore punch above its weigh, is good PMET.

The number one fake degree is from the exiled Chinese President.

  • PMETs:

Many of these PMETS jobs can be done by local.
Many of them are filled by PMETs bring in their own “local village”.
Some places are filled with related PMETs..
MOM should have done more to reduce the abuse of the systems.

What do you meant by “local village”

Is it the Hokkien Huey Kuan (福建会馆) bring in their own kind from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan ?

Is it the Cantonese Huey Kuan (广东会馆) bring in their own kind from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan ?

Is it the Ke Huey Kuan (客家会馆) bring in their own kind from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan ?

Reported on Straits Times :Quote-”SINGAPORE – Those visiting a new neighbourhood centre in Punggol can use their smartphones to browse the retail shops’ offerings while shopkeepers can use robots to deliver their goods from loading bays to their shops.

These are among the new technologies in use at the Punggol Northshore district neighbourhood centre, which was officially opened by Minister for National Development Desmond Lee on Sunday morning (July 24)…

The development also sports a barrier-free smart parking system.

Called [email protected], vehicle plate numbers are registered using cameras and parking charges are automatically calculated. Motorists can pay their parking fees using a mobile application of the same name.

Shoppers at Northshore Plaza can also enjoy a digital shopfront and virtually browse what shops have to offer with the use of the ShopperLink app.

An autonomous mobile robot trial for goods delivery is also being conducted at Northshore Plaza for faster and more productive deliveries.

Under this trial, robots can automatically pick up and deliver goods from loading bays to shops. Suppliers can use a booking system to indicate their delivery time and book loading bay spaces to save manual labour and time…

Northshore Plaza is the second new-generation neighbourhood centre to open in Punggol. The first was Oasis Terraces, a seven-storey mall built along the waterfront, which opened in 2019….

Other such centres include Buangkok Square and Hougang Rivercourt in Hougang, and Canberra Plaza in Sembawang….”Unquote.

Response :Next time,Singapore no need work permit holder for everything uses robots and digital apps to do .Just check how advance Punggol digital district will be ! New Punggol Northshore Plaza uses robots to move heavy goods from loading bay to shop outlet .And if you visit Haidi lao at Northshore, you will see a few 3D robots with pick and place arms handling the food there.Use less foreign labour ! And if you all visit one of the building around Orchard Central there at the highest level and there have two 3D coffeeshop robots making coffee and pickup robot arm to serve you coffee/tea! And if you visit Punggol waterpoint mall, you will find a shop called “CFOOT” using 3D printing to scan your foot and 3D printing to make the sole of the shoe and such sole cost easily $400+ if I remember correctly. And the monitor screen is a gigantic screen there ! Using scanner sensor to scan your foot size accurately for printing .And hardly any customer ordering for one sole alone cost $400+!!!!You will buy meh ? However such shop can still survive today paying high rental is surprising ! Government funds paying for such shop survival in a round about way ???No ? Implementing thing of no real usefulness to society ! Imagine using a slow moving robot to transport good from loading bay to shop when manual worker can deliver it at ten times faster than robot speed.Robot need to stop when encounter obstacle?
