All these official visits are usually planned in advance. Anwar and Sanchez would have been told they would be given state honor on arrival and so they arranged to fly their national carrier. If CN had planned the same for Mr. PM and his wife, don’t you think he could have also arranged for SIA to fly the entire SG delegation in from Hainan? SG is so rich. It’s a small price to pay in exchange for all the media attention. The carrier is not the issue. Ultimately, it is the host country’s decision to honor whomever it chooses. XI is the issue! And it’s not hard to guess the reason. LOL!

Smart Nation: LHY is not the PM of Singapore and his personal travel is not the same as an official state visit. The PM of a country can arrive in any carrier he chooses and still be accorded the honor befitting of his position. To put him on a bus or coach like a commoner is beneath the dignity of his position. Anyway, who benefits more from the signing of all these trade agreements? What is the balance of trade between Singapore and China, or India for that matter?

Makes one wonders why he can’t come to Beijing first then Hainan. Why enters the host’s house via the side gate then go to greet him at the front door?
