ICC prosecutor seeks arrest warrants for top Israeli and Hamas leaders

Author: The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has announced he is seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and three leaders of Hamas: Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh and Mohammed Deif.
The charges against Netanyahu and Gallant include starvation of civilians, extermination, intentionally directing attacks against a civilian population, among other crimes. The charges against the Hamas leaders include extermination, murder, taking hostages, rape, among other crimes.
"It places Israel's leaders of this genocidal onslaught on the Gaza Strip in the dock," says Middle East analyst Mouin Rabbani, who explains why this will be "very significant" for Israel's allies and signatories to the ICC. "They now have to make a choice between Israeli impunity and obligations under the Rome Statute."

If the International Criminal Court is willing to go after the Israeli leadership, it won’t hesitate to go after US lawmakers, according to Senator Lindsey Graham. The South Carolina Republican has united with Democrats in calling for sanctions on the Hague court.
ICC prosecutor Karim Khan has requested arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, arguing there were “reasonable grounds to believe” that they were guilty of “war crimes and crimes against humanity” in the Gaza conflict. Khan has also sought warrants for three senior members of Hamas.
“We – hopefully, together – will find a way to register our displeasure with the ICC because if they’ll do this to Israel, we’re next,” Graham said on Tuesday, at a Senate appropriations subcommittee hearing where US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was testifying.

Whether or not Karim Khan is successful in getting the warrants, this is already a win as it shows no one is above the LAW and can at anytime be declared as a “wanted criminal,” by the World Court. The Americans and the Israelis are not signatories to the ICC jurisdiction but they cannot escape the worldwide condemnation of their actions. By this action,the ICC has removed the powers of the Americans globally as many countries globally who are signatories have to abide by the ruling.This is a big win for Law and Order globally. It gives a deserved slap to the US President and the Israeli PM.It indirectly clips their powers to continue with the killing and massacre of the Palestinians.Next should be Biden,Blinken and all this American senators who have supported the WAR. There are American Senators like Bernie Sanders who support the ICC verdict.

I disagree. The warrants will be issued for both Zionists and the Hamas leaders. Once the warrants are issued, it can be enforced anywhere in a State that is a signatory.If they have bank accounts, it can be frozen. This is a way to ending wars on the ground, killing human lives,nature and destruction to properties.It will also mean the Americans, British and Germans cannot be providing arms to the Zionists as warrants can be issued against their leaders.It is a huge step forward in taking control of Law and Order globally.It bye passes the Americans and nullifies their power.

Under normal circumstances, if it was Russia, N Korea and maybe China, the warrants I would say is a sure thing. Unfortunately, this is Israel we are talking about, so it will very likely not happen.
The prosecutors may be genuine and keen to proceed, but the judges at the ICC are politicians and this is a political affair. With the US threatening to invade Netherlands and breathing down the judges’ neck, the 3 judges wouldn’t dare to sign off on the warrants.
These 3 political appointees, per se, has too much to lose unless they feel strongly for the poor Palestinians, but how many of us really do care whether Palestinians in Gaza die or not, over say a $1m paycheck?

The complaint was looked into, and now the prosecution, represented by someone who is a UK citizen, applied to the ICC to issue warrants for arrest against the suspected perpetrators, this signifies that the complaint is substantiated and the perpetrators should be taken to task.
ICC represents the humanitarian value being upheld by the European people. We respect the noble principle of ICC. The people sitting in there should have the gumption to do what they are supposed to do.

For the past months there were groups of people who are in the legal field who have signed petitions to their respective govts in the UK,Europe and Israel opposing the genocide in Gaza. If Nethanyahu is arrested in Israel to face charges then the warrants will be issued. American Senator Bernie Sanders also supports the ICC verdict. As more people in the world support the ICC action, the possibility of arrest might be imminent. The ICJ verdict is also due.So I will remain optimistic.
