I was surprised to read in ST that a lady living in a two-room HDB flat said that an air con cost $1000 which she couldn’t afford. Then I realised that she could only use the kind of air cons that don’t require a hole to be knocked in a wall, and that even if HDB allowed her to knock a hole in the wall, getting a contractor...
