Lately, we have had some problems with Malaysia. Southern Johor airspace dispute. And the Johor maritime dispute. And the normal ‘experts’ view, is that Singapore is again made the ‘bogey man’ by the inept Malaysian government. Admiration for your opponent, does not mean your acquiescence to them, nor ‘kowtow’... 

China is now promoting globalization. But critics complained that many industries in China are still protected or are receiving government subsidies. Rather than complain about China, the other countries can also adopt the same approach, (i.e. to protect some of their industries through tariffs and other measures). The tariffs... 

Many people have read that the Malaysians have expanded their port limits off Tuas and encroached into our territorial waters. I hope that good sense, our common history and friendship with them cultivated over the years can help us overcome any difficulties.
