At the National Day Rally last year, PM Lee said his govt would put Singaporeans first. It made my blood boil when I read in today's ST (9 July 2012) that NTUC will subsidize 90% of driving course fees for Singaporeans and PERMANENT RESIDENTS.  Not only that, NTUC will "place them in driving jobs". What insane mind came up... 

Judges will finally be made to work harder, at least when it comes to the death penalty as it is applied in drug trafficking and homicide cases. The Singapore govt has seemingly out of the blue announced that mandatory death penalty in the two aforementioned mentioned offences would now be amended to allow judges’ discretion....
