Does the government expect foreign scholars to integrate well into our society ? Did the government make a study whether they can fit into our culture? Take the case study of the recent "famous" PRC scholar who made remarks about Singaporeans, if you look at his facebook, how many of the friends are "locals" -  less than... 

If the government policy is to look out for foreign talents and scholars, the time has come for review. Foreign talents/scholars come here because that was best opportunities available for them at that particular time;  usually when they are junior,  or have plateau in their career with little advancement prospects if... 

I am a former MOE teacher and i agree with the points raised in this article. It is the reason why now i am in a western country continuing my teaching profession. The system here is just plain ridiculous, it is just unnatural and goes against human thinking and logic. The main reason why some kids have problems with the system...
