TR EMERITUS

NSMen I am very happy to be a Singaporean. I was given a fairly good education and a decent standard of living. I always had a roof over my head and never go to bed hungry. Then I look around the world, first, the countries around SIngapore. Are we better off? Yes. Then looking around the world, there are others very badly worse... 

PM Lee Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said more social spending does not mean better results ("More govt not always better govt: PM Lee"; last Friday). Yes, it is wise not to waste money on Western-style welfare programmes. But is the Government spending enough? We are told there is a "many helping hands" approach to social... 

Please don’t anyhow hantam our policemen. Further to my earlier posting: Maruah wanted to hold a seminar on the “struggle for workers’ rights” in riot area. Sounds like trying to pour petrol on fire.
