The population in 1999 was 3,958,700 – with the citizens and PRs numbering 3,229,700. By 2009 it was 4,987,600 – and a resident population of 3,733,900. It has been a while and this thought is still lingering in my mind as to why our Prime Minister promoted a PRC bus driver, did she have skills that no Singaporean bus drivers have? Or was it because she was willing to take a salary that was lower than others? Why is our “Singapore public transport operator” hiring foreigners...
