As I was sitting down at a bench outside Macdonald's at Bedok Mall, a group of policemen approached me. They requested for my ID. And then a stranger came and offered them his ID instead. Stranger : Why not you guys check my ID instead? I am from Pakistan. Policeman : What are you trying to do? Stranger : You guys are harassing... 

Nobody wants to pay higher taxes. But if they can see the tangible benefits that result from higher taxes they will begin to appreciate that this is what characterises an enlightened and civilised society, where children are precious to the state for securing its future. It is the govts responsibility to persuade the populace...
