TR EMERITUS

The two groups of employees unaffected by the current economic downturn are the civil servants and MPs/ Ministers.Wonder what will Grace Fu say this time round since ministers are still getting their millions as usual while Sinkies are facing retrenchment, salary cuts and wage stagnation! Yet Ministers’ salaries are funded... 

I refer to the article “Unemployment for Singaporeans falls but more older workers jobless: MOM Q1 labour report” (Straits Times, Jun 13). S’poreans’ unemployment rate lower than residents’? It states that “The unemployment rate fell from 3 per cent last quarter to 2.6 per cent for citizens, and from 2.9 per cent... 

I shall tell you why buying a house is to tie you down and trap you in the system. For GEN Y and those buying house now, or who have bought in past 5-6 yrs, BTO prices were bought at sky high prices. So imagine having to take 20-25 yrs loan,after that how much would one have for retirement? One can argue for degree holders...
