作者：新加坡文献馆 2010年10月3日，网上一篇新加坡时评文章，其中有这么一段文字：‘独立以后，新加坡之所以能渡过一个又一个难关，创造出一个又一个奇迹，从45年前谁都不放在眼里的“小角色”，发展成为今天备受国际瞩目的“大明星”，关键就在于我们有一个从来不会让主流价值观制约国家的发展与进步，在决策方面往往走在社会前头的强势政府。’ 这段文字的大意应该是说：新加坡的强势政府使到45年前的小角色发展成为今天的国际大明星；强势政府是因，国际大明星是果。 这种历史观蕴含的政治讯息是：一个强势的新加坡政府与一个弱势的新加坡人民关系有利经济发展，换言之，新加坡人民有必要继续维持当前的官民关系。说白了，如果新加坡人要持续享受经济发展成果，那就得持续支持人民行动党执政。 这种‘把新加坡从一个不起眼的渔村发展为一个国际都会和新兴国家’的论述是典型的人民行动党历史观...
