For a moment, I was worried that US defense contractors weren’t making enough money. Houthis are a gorilla army and US cannot win a guerilla war. They may look insane but now China and Russia is going to help them via Iran and it is going to help them. The Houthis remain very popular in Yemen despite nine years of American and Saudi efforts to militarily re-install a client regime in the country. Due to American and Saudi bombings and blockades, nearly 400,000 Yemenis have died, over half of them through disease or starvation. The number of actively starving children in the country has been just under 1 million. This is OUR “humanitarian interest”!!!

What the Houthis (read Iran) want is for Israel to stop destroying Hamas, they could care less about ordinary Gazans. Iran knew arming and training Hamas and Hezbollah would lead to their attacking Israel and a massive response that affected normal Palestinians. The Houthis (read Iran) don’t care about Palestinian civilians, in fact they’ve done everything in their power to make sure that they have ongoing war with Israel. They just care that their fellow Iranian proxy is being destroyed. This is not so complicated. The Iranian government wants to destabilise the region. It uses surrogates to accomplish this.

Can anyone provide evidence that Iran, the Houthis, Hamas or Hezbollah has ever done anything to actually assist the well being of any Palestinian? You can condemn the Israeli government without being simple-minded. Focusing only on the Israeli government is exactly what Iran and Hamas want. Why would anyone want to do their bidding? I have always held that, the Palestinians have been pawns of the other Middle Eastern nations trying to use them against the West and specifically Israel. They have certainly done little to support and help the Palestinians– not giving them multiple forms of meaningful peaceful aid, land, and guidance. Instead, they arm them and encourage violence.

In both cases, the dominant power US/UK, identifies a nefarious outside entity pulling the strings (Iran), rhetorically separates linked struggles, and reductively labels political interventions as ‘terrorism.’ All of this would end if the U.S. would commit to structural transformations in Israel allowing for a Palestinian right of return and the end of Jewish supremacy.

None of this violence will stop until the main instigator, Iran, is dealt with.

No need to do all this attacking and damage. The Houthis have said they will stop if the Zionists stop the genocide in Gaza. So aren’t these countries attacking Yemen supporting the genocide in Gaza? France, Italy and Spain have refused to join in. NATO is becoming divided because of Biden and Sunak. This is a win for Putin and China.

British defense minister Grant Shapps has predicted a global conflict between the West and Russia, China, Iran and North Korea, within five years. Shapps has called on Britain’s allies to increase their military spending in response to this so-called “existential threat.”

China better be prepared.
