US ‘won’t help’ Israel retaliate against Iran

U.S President Joe Biden reportedly made an 180-degree turn after pledging full support to Israel in defending the nation and citizens from Iran's attack who launched a barrage of missiles and drones, according to Axios, CNN reported Biden’s U-turn on Israel’s defense citing senior administration officials.

Earlier, in a released statement, Biden pledged to back Israel, condemning Iran’s Attacks and reaffirmed 'ironclad' commitment to help Israel. The US Military has also shot down dozens of Iranian Missiles bound for Israel. Tension simmered between Israel and Iran after seven IRGC members including two commanders were killed in Israeli drone attack on April 1st at Iranian consulate in Syria.

Meanwhile, Iran has warned Israel against a larger attack if it retaliates after Tehran's drone and missile attacks. The head of Iran's Armed Forces Maj Gen Mohammad Bagheri has spoken: “Our response will be much larger than tonight’s military action if Israel retaliates against Iran." He also warned the United States against participating in any counter attacks.

If Biden got tough on Israel, if he were to immediately STOP the sale of weapons to Israel, he would be MUCH more likely to win re-election in November. How can his advisors and strategists be unaware of this? Regardless, they understand that Biden is now widely understood to be complicit in the Israeli onslaught. While he would be able to prevent ongoing damage to the Palestinians, a turnaround is too late to help him politically. Indeed, I believe the same political calculation in the U.S. still applies..I wouldn’t be so sanguine about that.

Far more American voters support Israel than those opposed. The primary opposition comes from the younger demographic (18-30), and among that group at least as many are motivated to vote against Trump because of the abortion issue. In any case, older voters in general back Biden’s support of Israel, but if he were to abruptly stop all military aid unconditionally, that would not sit well with many. Having deliberately provoked Iran, Israel now can claim an excuse to bomb south Lebanon and create a “buffer zone”, while vanquishing Hezbollah. Members of the Israeli cabinet have longed expressed the desire to occupy south Lebanon long-term if not permanently.

Iran had said this attack ended. Now up to Israel to decide. Obviously the US prefers to line the pockets of “defense industry” investors and corporate hierarchy vultures. I fear that not only American supplied weapons will still go to Israel unless conditions are applied but that Israel will get what Netanyahu has long wanted–American intervention militarily in the area. That means American boots on the ground that would surely be the next move.

  • Apparently, Iran gave 72-hour notice of its intention to retaliate against Israel (https://www.tremeritus.net/2024/04/15/iran-gave-72-hour-advance-notice-of-its-intended-retaliation-against-israel/). Now we know why 99% of its attacks were defeated.

Biden can end the war or continue to line the pockets of the weapons manufacturers and lose the elections as many Americans used the “uncommitted,” vote to show they are not in solidarity with Biden on the genocide in Gaza. The American taxpayers should ask themselves why their hard earned monies are being used by their govt. to “protect,” another State which is not American. Hamas, Houthis and Hezbollah have all said that the hostilities will all end if Israel moves out of all occupied Palestinian land and releases all prisoners. All hostages will then be released and the war ends. Why is this so hard to attain by the leaders of the present world?

  • Zelensky agreed:

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has accused US politicians of playing political games around the issue of aid for Kiev, claiming that they do not care how many people in his country are dying.

“This is pure politics, and it’s a disgrace for the world and a disgrace for democracy,” Zelensky told PBS NewsHour. “Nobody cares how many people are dying in Ukraine every day. They only care about their approval ratings,” he added.

You see it as defeated but I see it a win for Iran.

Win #1 It show that Iran had the capability to build missile that can reach Israel and established itself as the big brother in ME.

Win #2 Iran missiles are comparatively cheaper than US made patriot missiles.
For 1 Iran cheap missile, Israel has to use minimum 2 expensive missile to intercept it least one of the missile miss it.

Win #3 The missiles that actually slipped through Israel air defence mostly landed on Israel military installation, not civilian residents.
This help Iran garner goodwill with the international community.
