On the right or wrong of LBGTQ behaviour, whether or not it’s genetic and not of choice is not at issue until it’s judged to be wrong, and then, and only then, does the question arise as to whether or not to ascribe blame, and how much blame. When appraising right and wrong, the conduct is to be considered like any other conduct, ie. the behaviour and its consequences, as they affect oneself and others, judged by how they fare in light of values such as justice, love, compassion, truthfulness and trust. To assume something “perverted” about it at this stage can only be prejudice, probably result of “religious” or otherwise indoctrination. And when considering and judging, bear in mind that, generally speaking, heterosexual conduct too is equally in need of like appraisal. (Indeed, promiscuous conduct among heterosexuals can cause more harm than that among homosexuals, who can’t bear unwanted babies.)

So we CANNOT blanket blame so-called “Western influences”.

Having said all that, I personally still support the government’s stand that same-sex marriage should NOT be officially endorsed. I don’t bother how other adults want to live their personal lives, so if some disgusting “Ah Gua” want to kiss another “Ah Gua” and live together happily ever after, that’s their choice as consenting ADULTS as long as they do their business in private, same as in traditional family unit whereby sex is private matter between man & wife. However, I do NOT agree to those LGBTQs getting the same policy treatment or be recognized as a “family unit” for various purposes such as balloting or allocation of HDB flats.

Therefore, LGBTQs should not have legal status of being a “family unit” (and also cannot fulfill the associated requirements in terms of financial / public housing / grants / baby bonus / adoption / social programs etc… because a family by default is naturally for procreation and same-sex unions cannot procreate. If this is called prejudice, then maybe we can only blame Mother Nature for the bias in creating such LGBTQs who cannot procreate in the first place, yes?
This also ties in with Sinkiepore’s already dwindling birthrates and officially sanctioning or giving such same-sex unions legal recognition will be another nail in the coffin for nation building.

I think our official stand should be similar to that of prostitution – we know it exist and it has probably existed throughout human history, so although its not technically illegal or enforced as a crime under the legal code, we cannot condone such activities so we still have to regulate Geylang brothels via “licensing” as an official and significant message & method. Yeah I know its seemingly contradictory and ambiguous but many social / moral agendas (including LGBTQs & “Lacial” topics) are like this too.

On a side note, I have read that some species of frogs & fishes can naturally transform into male or female versions depending on environmental factors. Of course, humans are NOT frogs nor fishes but nevertheless this may be a naturally-evolving adaptation feature. Perhaps, in some unimaginable future scenario, if humans ever evolve into bi-sexual / androgynous creatures (that can procreate) then the laws may have to keep up, but till then it’s always going to be a gray area that we should not cross, until and unless Mother Nature deems it so.
