This is not a game of cardsThis is not a game of cards I can appreciate parties wanting to hold their cards close to their chest, but the smoke and mirrors games on nominations day, the shuffling of the DPM from a seat he had openly been declared to be defending, and other ministers shuffling constituencies leaves one feeling the PAP thinks it is playing a game of cards. Constituency...

Cwc-Ai

Singapore Police to investigate anti-PAP fliers sent to residents in two GRCs

Singapore Police to investigate anti-PAP fliers sent to residents in two GRCs

Written by Our Correspondent In yet another sign that public anger against the PAP is fast reaching an all-time high, fliers critical of the PAP were found in the mailboxes of HDB flats in Pasir Ris-Punggol and Marine Parade GRCs. Printed on A-4 sized papers in both English and Chinese with the title "The truth that every citizen must know", the fliers made "allegations about corruption and exploitation and complained about cost of living, among other things" and urge residents to take "collective and concerted action to go against the PAP", the Straits Times reports today. As expected, the state media dared not publish the content of the filers and jumped to the defence of the embattled PAP by casting aspersions on the credibility of the fliers. TODAY published an article with the misleading headline "Poison pen letters hit Sengkang" while the Straits Times interviewed one resident who felt it was not "appropriate" for such content to be circulated this way to give the erroneous impression to the public that the distribution of anti-PAP fliers is wrong. A police report was made and the Singapore Police is now investigating the matter involving a political party under the Sedition Act, where the offender could be fined up to $5,000 and/or given a maximum jail term of three years. It is most befuddling that the state media chose to slant its articles in such a way to mislead readers into thinking that a criminal offence has been committed when the content of the fliers remain a mystery. At the very least, they should publish the content in full for readers to judge for themselves if they are indeed "seditious". It is hardly a surprise that the PAP MPs in the two GRCs have dismissed the fliers. PAP MP Charles Chong who sparked an outcry two years ago by describing Singaporeans as "lesser mortals" said the allegations against the PAP were too "broad and wild" to warrant a response. "It looks like someone wants to have a head start this time...We will respond if they are more specific and credible...The public could draw its own conclusions about the allegations," he was quoted as saying in the Straits Times. If this is indeed so, why then is the media hiding the content of the fliers from Singaporeans? Mr Chong's response is in line with what PAP Minister Lim Swee Say said in Parliament last month: "We (PAP) are DEAF to all criticisms!" Every Singapore citizen has the right to criticize the government and its policies and to call on collective action by the citizenry. The Singapore police should not waste precious taxpayers' monies on such frivolous police reports to criminalize legitimate civil activism as guaranteed under our Constitution. Readers who have received a copy of this flyer, please scan it and email to us at [email protected] We would like to call on all Singaporeans to stand behind this brave Singaporean who dares to go against the despotic, undemocratic and paranoid regime. In the event that he/she is arrested by the PAP's police, we will set up a fund to fight the case for him/her in court. Let the whole world knows how dictatorial, repressive and totalitarian the PAP is!   EDITORS’ NOTE: Please join our Facebook page here and invite your friends to do so to create awareness of the current affairs affecting Singaporeans.  Read More →

Halimah Yacob’s “counter-intuition”: Not true that bosses are hiring foreigners over Singaporeans

Halimah Yacob’s “counter-intuition”: Not true that bosses are hiring foreigners over Singaporeans

Written by Our Correspondent Despite the many examples reported in the mainstream media and in Temasek Review that employers are hiring foreigners over Singaporeans, the PAP continues to live in a state of denial. The Chinese papers reported lately of Bread Talk employing Malaysians over Singaporeans and of Old Town White Coffee having more China nationals than Singaporeans on its payroll. We have also published numerous job advertisements here and in overseas seeking specifically for foreigners for jobs in Singapore which can otherwise be taken up by Singaporeans. When asked about the discriminatory job ads, PAP MP Halimah Yacob can only give a vague answer by "feeling" that the problem is "counter-intuitive": "Wise employers know they should look strictly at merit so that they get the best talent for the organisation." [Source: Straits Times, 7 April 2010] The Straits Times reported that "investigations" by Tripartite Alliance for Fair Employment Practices (Tafep) found that the accusations were "unfounded". Tafep co-chairman Bob Tan, who is also vice-president of the Singapore National Employers Federation said: "From an employer's point of view, we want to hire the best. All things being equal, I would prefer to hire a Singaporean. A Singaporean has roots here. Whatever investments we put in, he will stay. Very often, there is some misunderstanding on why foreigners are hired over Singaporeans. It has got to do with the job requirements." One would expect Tafep and Madam Halimah Yacob to come out with concrete facts and figures to substantiate their claims and not just such cursory replies to dismiss the genuine concerns of Singaporeans. If Singaporeans are really preferred, why then are companies like Courts and Keppel Corp putting up job ads in Malaysian newspaper to recruit Malaysian managers, engineers and administrators? Are Singaporeans inferior to them? One of our readers has written to Tafep to complain about the discriminatory job ads against Singaporeans and received a reply that it had “been in touch with the job portal and the foreign recruitment agency to stress the importance of using objective, relevant and non-discriminatory criteria when advertising to fill a position.” However, Tafep has no legislative powers to punish these companies or recruitment agencies. Neither can it coerce them to employ Singaporeans. In other words, Tafep is a "toothless" organization set up by NTUC to "wayang" that it "cares" for Singapore workers. With due respect to Madam Halimah Yacob, her "feelings" and "intuitions" are completely misplaced. There are not that many "wise" employers around in Singapore. Keeping labor costs low is the priority. The PAP must tighten the criteria for the employment of foreigners to restrict them only to sectors shunned by Singaporeans. They should never be allowed to compete with Singaporeans for PMET positions as this is tantamount to snatching their rice-bowls and depriving them of a decent job and livelihood in Singapore. With more stringent labor policies in place to reduce the availability of cheap foreign workers, employers will have no choice but to offer higher pay to hire Singaporeans and to think of innovative ways to boost productivity in order to reduce labor costs. Unfortunately with no independent trade unions in Singapore to fight for the rights of Singapore workers, we have no choice but to put up with the hogwash from Madam Halimah Yacob and her gang for a long time to come.  Read More →

Conversation with Jiang Mei, a PRC freelance prostitute given Singapore PR by the PAP

Conversation with Jiang Mei, a PRC freelance prostitute given Singapore PR by the PAP

OPINION During a NUS ministerial forum early this week, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean proclaimed that the PAP has been very "strict" with immigration and they accept only foreign "talents" who can "contribute" to Singapore. Due to the PAP's liberal immigration and pro-foreigner policies, foreigners now make up 36 percent of Singapore's population, up from 14 percent in 1990. Unlike other developed nations, prospective immigrants do not have to pass a mandatory International English test such as IELTS to work, study or live in Singapore. Furthermore, it is amazingly easy for foreigners to obtain Singapore PR which does not require a minimum period of residency and approved in double quick-time. The state media reported last year on one China National Zhang Yuanyuan who obtained Singapore PR within two months of application. According to the Home Affairs Ministry, two out of every three PR applicants are successful, some of whom are construction workers, cleaners, masseurs and even freelance prostitutes. How these "professionals" can be considered as "talents" by DPM Teo and his other PAP colleagues is anybody's guess. Some readers have feedbacked to us to provide proof that freelance prostitutes are given Singapore PR by the PAP. Let us share with you an encounter by one of our readers Nick with a Singapore PR from China who is currently working as a freelance prostitute in a massage parlor in Chinatown which took place last year December. Note: The names are fictitious, the venue is a massage parlor at Chinatown, exact location not given for obvious reasons. Readers who do not believe the story can explore the place to find out yourself. Translated from Chinese: Nick is a frequent "cheongster" (patron) of massage parlors and KTV lounges. He is amazed that quite a number of the masseurs and KTV hostesses from China are Singapore PRs. Brothers who "cheong" frequently will be able to corroborate his claims. Below is a conversation that Nick had with Jiang Mei, a masseur working as a freelance prostitute in Chinatown: Jiang Mei (standing outside the parlor soliciting customers): "帅哥 (handsome guy), do you want some 按摩 (massage)?" Nick (entering the parlor): "Hmm....is Ying Zi around?" Jiang Mei: "She went for course sponsored by the government." Nick: "What course?" Jiang Mei: "Some skill upgrading course to be a beautician, try me, I promise to give you excellent service." Note: Nick subsequently found out that the course is sponsored by SPUR for a diploma to become a beautician. Our beloved PAP government has been spending taxpayers' monies to sponsor these freelance PRC prostitutes for "upgrading". Nick stripped to his birthday suit and the massage session began. Nick: "Where are you from, first time here?" Jiang Mei: "China, have been here for a few months already." Nick: "Which part of China?" Jiang Mei: "江西 (Jiangxi province), heard of it before?" Nick: "Not really, how many years have you been in Singapore?" Jiang Mei: "Five years already." Nick: "PR already?" Jiang Mei: "Yeah, worked as a factory worker in the first year, my company helped me applied for Singapore PR." Nick: "so fast?" Jiang Mei: "Got my PR within six months. It is very easy to get, some of my colleagues got theirs in two months only. Just fill up the application form and our company will do the rest for us." Nick: "So what did you do later?" Jiang Mei: "Providing special massage? haha..." Nick: "Not thinking of going back to China?" Jiang Mei: "Must earn money first. Not easy in China nowadays, I earned only RMB2,000 back home as a beautician, can earn more here. Why, you thinking of "包" me?" (包 = to be mistress) Nick: "Haha....I am too poor to "包" you." Jiang Mei: "So......do you want to try my 特别服务 (special service)? (hands moving down to massage Nick's crotch)" Nick (acting blurred): "Oh...what special service?" Jiang Mei: "讨厌 (naughty), you are not the first time here, don't pretend!" Nick: "If you don't tell me, how I know?" Jiang Mei: "Standard - 打飞机 ("beat aeroplane") - $50, 吹笛("blow flute") - $70,  全身服务 (whole body service) - $100" NOTE: These are terms for some sexual services. Readers who are interested to know what they mean exactly are advised to find out more themselves on the internet. Nick: "Hmmm....a bit ex, let me consider." Jiang Mei: "Ahh...don't be like this, since you are here already, 来爽一爽, I will make you happy, you are my first customer of the day." Nick: "Inclusive of massage?" Jiang Mei: "Massage is $30 goes to the boss, I earn only through the special service. Try my whole body package, everything included, guarantee you will be extremely satisfied!" Nick: "hmm.....didn't bring enough money." Jiang Mei: "Don't bluff me, how  much money do you have now in your wallet?" Nick: "$100 only, not enough for the whole body package." Jiang Mei: "Then try my blowing skills, 来啦! time is running out, "happy times" are precious, don't waste it, you are not short of money anyway right." Nick: "You have 套 (cap)?" Jiang Mei: "Of course! (strips!)" END OF CONVERSATION The above dialogue between Nick and Jiang Mei is REAL and is published here NOT to promote any promiscuous activities but simply to DEBUNK the PAP's blatant LIES that it has been STRICT on immigration. Is there any other country in the world which gives PRs to prostitutes? And somemore Singapore taxpayers have to sponsor them for "upgrading"! The PAP is indeed making a fool out of itself and making Singapore a laughing stock in the eyes of the world. In a recent interview with the National Geographic magazine, PAP strongman Lee Kuan Yew said that it is a "good thing" that Singapore has welcomed so many Chinese immigrants (from mainland China) as they are more "hard-driving" and "hard-striving" than locals. He forgot to add that new immigrants like Jiang Mei are more "hard-thrusting" too.
