It is not surprising that Trump has increased China's...

This is not a game of cardsThis is not a game of cards I can appreciate parties wanting to hold their cards close to their chest, but the smoke and mirrors games on nominations day, the shuffling of the DPM from a seat he had openly been declared to be defending, and other ministers shuffling constituencies leaves one feeling the PAP thinks it is playing a game of cards.

Cwc-Ai

Temasek Review offers to pay Mr Sear Hock Rong $100 per hour to explain himself

Temasek Review offers to pay Mr Sear Hock Rong $100 per hour to explain himself

Written by Our Correspondent The Temasek Review has offered a platform for YPAP member Mr Sear Hock Rong to clarify if there are any conflicts of interest between his job and grassroots work in Eunos. Mr Sear runs an education service company together with a partner Mr Fong Yoong Keong who is the Vice Chairman of Eunos Zone ‘3′ RC. The company was registered on 15 July 2009 this year according to information from the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore, or ACRA. According to information posted on Mr Sear’s company website, his start-up has 24 clients so far, nearly a third of which are grassroots organizations in Eunos. Netizens questioned how Mr Sear has managed to clinch the tender for these grassroots organizations when his company is less than 6 months old and if proper procedures have been followed. On 24 December 2009, the Temasek Review posted 10 questions to Mr Sear on its site based on the People's Association operating guidelines on acquisition of services from external vendors. (read the questions here) Mr Sear posted a reply as below: "As I have mentioned many times before, anyone who questions my integrity is free to make a report to the relevant authorities anytime. I shall not comment further. Furthermore, I do not think Temasek Review is the right platform for me to explain anything to anyone." Despite persistent requests by netizens to explain himself, Mr Sear has refused to do so and instead challenge them to report him to the authorities. The Temasek Review will be keen to provide Mr Sear the "right platform" for him to clear up the doubts surrounding his business dealings with the Eunos grassroots organizations. Mr Sear need only tell us the desired place, date and time and we will book the venue for him. The event will be opened to the public who can field their questions to Mr Sear to answer directly. We offer to pay Mr Sear $100 per hour to grace the event. It will not only give him an opportunity to redeem himself in the eyes of the online community, but will enable us to better understand the inner workings of the grassroots organizations as well. In fact, it will help to boost Mr Sear's stature within the community and may help in the recruitment of fresh volunteers for his community club. We have already made Mr Sear an irresistable offer. The ball is in his court.   Related articles: 1. Netizen questions if there is a conflict of interest between Mr Sear Hock Rong’s job and grassroots work 2.

Read More →

Read More →
