This is not a game of cardsThis is not a game of cards I can appreciate parties wanting to hold their cards close to their chest, but the smoke and mirrors games on nominations day, the shuffling of the DPM from a seat he had openly been declared to be defending, and other ministers shuffling constituencies leaves one feeling the PAP thinks it is playing a game of cards. Constituency...

Cwc-Ai

YPAP supporter “Eric How” calls netizens “donkeys” and vows to shut down 3in1kopitiam forum

YPAP supporter “Eric How” calls netizens “donkeys” and vows to shut down 3in1kopitiam forum

Written by Our Correspondent YPAP member Eric How who caused a massive outroar in cyberspace a few weeks ago with his callous remarks on netizens critical of the ruling party. has vowed to shut down the popular 3in1kopitiam forum, a Singapore-based internet chatroom in a posting on the YPAP Facebook Network to Kojakbt, the moderator of 3in1kopitiam forum. Mr How had earlier slammed netizens for “slapping on the government senselessly” because they did not get “any fruits of benefits” from their forefathers: [Source: YPAP Facebook listed in the public domain] In his reply to “kojakbt and friends”, Mr How chided them for attacking the Singapore government in the 3in1kopitiam forum and said that they should blame it on their karma or forefathers instead: “Do not be bitter and go on slapping on the Government senselessly because you did not get any fruits or benefits from your forefather. You will have to blame on your karma or your forefathers for not getting all the paths right for their off springs.” Mr How also boasted unashamedly that his “folks” get him a personal car so that he does not need to “squeeze into public transport” like other netizens. It appears that Mr How remains unfazed by the negative publicity he had received from netizens based on his latest reply yesterday to Kojakbt: [Source: YPAP Facebook listed in the public domain] In his comment, Mr How claimed his family was very "supportive" of him as he did nothing wrong by speaking the "truth": "Stubborn donkeys like you just do not wanna hear the truth. I am still enjoying myself and busy doing my own business rather than doing unproductive stuffs like nagging on the forum anonymously." He also boasted about changing a new car: "BTW, I am changing my car again and so what? I made those money and I have the rights to spend it anyway I like. All you whiners can carry on squeezing inside the train while I am enjoying my new ride. My advice to you is to be more productive than to nag continuously without making any drastic change to your own mindset." Mr How ended his rather caustic posting by issuing a stern warning to 3in1kopitiam forumers that the forum "will be shut down one of these days." He did not elaborate more on what he intend to do. Since the 3in1kopitiam forum's spat with YPAP, its host Delphi has received numerous complaints from unknown persons about its forumers posting personal information of others leading to some of them being banned, including Kojakbt. Coincidentally, after The Temasek Review broke the story on our site, our host received a complaint from a "Desmond Quek" that we have posted "sensitive personal information" of others here. Despite spending an inordinate amount of resources to spruce up its IT capabilities, the ruling party is still unable to reach out to the online community as the next general election approaches. Its P65 blog, party websites as well as the official REACH feedback forum all suffer from a low readership as compared to independent sites like The Temasek Review whose readership has scored in recent weeks. In the meantime, YPAP members like Eric How and the much "celebrated" Sear Hock Rong have continued to show the rest of us why the PAP must not be given a "blank check" to govern Singapore again without being held accountable to its words and actions. Journalists in China face e-mail hijacking

Journalists in China face e-mail hijacking

CNN, 18 January 2010 Foreign correspondents in at least two Beijing, China, bureaus of news organizations have had their Google e-mail accounts attacked, with e-mails forwarded to a mysterious address, according to the Foreign Correspondents' Club of China. In an advisory posted on its Web site, the organization advised members how to check if their Gmail had been compromised and urged caution when clicking on links and e-mail attachments. The advisory did not name the news organizations affected. In September the correspondents' club warned that journalists' news assistants were reporting being the victims of e-mail viruses sent by purported media organizations. One such e-mail claimed to be from an editor of The Straits Times in Singapore. The attacks on foreign correspondents' Gmail accounts follows Google's threat last week to pull its business operations out of China, citing the targeting of Gmail accounts of Chinese human rights activists. In a posting on The Official Google Blog last week, Google's chief legal officer, David Drummond, said that an investigation found that only two Gmail accounts of Chinese human rights activists "appear to have been accessed, and that activity was limited to account information (such as the date the account was created) and subject line, rather than the content of e-mails themselves." However, Drummond noted that the same investigation found that third parties routinely accessed the accounts of "dozens of U.S.-, China-, and Europe-based Gmail users who are advocates of human rights in China" via malware or phishing scams. - CNN  Read More →

Chorus of Change for Singaporeans: Fear No More, Release the Power within, Vote for Change (Part 1)

Chorus of Change for Singaporeans: Fear No More, Release the Power within, Vote for Change (Part 1)

By Voice of Citizen The one Master, the Architect of Micro Universe, Singapore, has the carte blanche to do anything, say anything. However, if a political party unwisely said something against him, sedition, liable for criminal action will be the outcome. Even unclassified report released from the Archive of UK library as in recent case of Janet’s report to police of sedition case against a web media who published a release of MM political instigation in the past is used as a threat to suppress political expression. Do Not Live Political Vacuum Anymore We can NO LONGER live with fear of political expression. Political space is one without we cannot determine our destiny. We are subjugated by our Master for far too long. Without political space, we are like birds constrained with a cage. Without political space we lose our citizen collective Will and Mind, losing Heart and Soul of the Nation. Our collective nation faculties are clipped as birds within a cage only know the confines within. Our destiny is within the dictate of the Grand Master within that Cage of his Architect. We are consigned to his mercy and fate. Without emotional space, human mental faculties are also affected in many ways, even in rational thought like EQ affecting acumen of social interactions, empathy of needs that guides our conscience and morality. Likewise without political space, faculties of Nation are affected in many ways even acumen in intellectual creativity expression. We are in a sense in semi-zombie or stultified state, devoid of senses and character, where physical form of concerted actions driven according to the tunes of the orchestrator, subject in accordance to his prescription of Law and Order. The Grand Master can be forgiven for many good deeds his has done, but it questionable for the next generation of PAP who will become, who will take his place, as the Grand Master. We are a Nation without balance of mind and soul afflicted by cancerous spread of PAP propaganda and policies of which lack political space for citizen expression has numbed the senses of the Nation for decades. Political space is absent but in place moral corruption in form of money politics and cronyism is aplenty and spreading into more organs of the Nation “Body”. Those who serve PAP serve themselves NOT the citizens. The void of free political expression, rights of discourse and criticism on the Nation-building is supplanted with threats and dictates of ONE VOICE with impunity of governance without eroding accountability and duty to citizens. The organs of PAP has mutated from one that was organic to citizens interest to one that has “cancerous infliction”. We should not allow it to be come terminal, we need to check it spread or excise it. Fallacy of Rationale The PAP has stated they are only party that can provide good rational policy. They are the only national leaders, the best of the best culled from the economy-the super-paid intellectuals. Only they can make best rational decision and policy. Mother Theresa or Mohammed Gandhi or Obama will not fit the bill of any post of such high profile in PAP prescription. It is a mockery of democracy. Rationale can be a double-edged sword if used craftily-rational policy can be “rationally crafted” for self-perpetuation of the party since they monopolize every citizen live, even personal, economic and political. You name, they control virtually every organ of the Nation, every part of citizen lives. Now they use subtle threat that they are the only party who can provide better lives, lower cost of livings for the citizens, IF AND ONLY IF, citizens give them STRONG ELECTORATE MANDATE of power. Conversely, if they do not get strong mandate, does it means they will pump up costs of livings, increase rapidly influx of immigrant? Will they make lives of citizens harder? Will they exert a quid pro quo for awakening to the dawning sense of realization of truth? Manipulation of “rationale” Now, just to name two critical manipulations, the consequence of such manipulation will affect and change the lives of many citizens critically-foreign influx and housing, both have intertwining impact and effects of diverging divide of stratums of society in terms of living costs and standards, where only the privilege enjoys the fruits of the Nation built upon by the citizens. They manipulate with their grand “rationale” according to their calibration regardless of the severe consequences to nation such rapid influx and artificial cost manipulation will have on citizens, present and future. The ramification of these policies of foreign influx and housing has already adversely affected many citizens. There is no consequence to the PAP whatever their policies. The day the Nation falls apart, they will still and their kind live in luxury. The bulk of the Nation will pay a heavy price in the hands of PAP, at the mercy of the Grand Master who decides who will get what for serving him. Is that what we want? On the “rationale” of housing affordability, for example, which they have cleverly intertwined with the self-interest of PAP, their guise of “rationale” of wealth creation appears to work to garner support of the Rich and Powerful, attracting more of this kind into the Nation, while dicing with citizen debts to their advantage. Beneath this “rationale” of affordability to push land and asset price up is an intentional and sinister scheme to entrap voters to support PAP in similar way as they did to tie upgrading of HDB to votes. More ominously, perhaps, also to inflate national asset value to offset national asset loss in overseas investment. The citizen’s CPF that is locked in investment, lubricating the clogs of wheels, that spins fortunes for themselves and its kind but illusion of “fortune” for the lesser mortals. As the wheel spins more, more CPF will be required to keep the Elite, Rich and Powerful smiling and CPF withdrawal period extended longer. More influx, more costly housing will ensue. In so doing, they justify their policies are required to keep food on citizen plates-never mind, if we live in misery, at least there is food. That is the “rationale” of the great rich-poor divide dichotomy. They have indeed created an illusionary waterfall effect of releasing monies of inflated cost of housing through home downgrading as means to retirement. Will this waterfall effect last in the vicious cycle of ever-increasing costs of living and housing? Will it only benefit the present lucky ones or the mass market? Will it be sustainable in the long-run? There is a fallacy of logic in this policy of home “affordability” based on the presumption that value of leasehold will forever go up as it ages while salary is depressed by onslaught of cheap manpower, the so-called foreign talents. The CPF used up in the original purchase is forever locked in the clogs of the spinning wheel of “fortunes”. The cascading wealth effect, sustained through manipulating waves of foreigners and PRs coming will cause cascading effect of debt for current and future generation. It is an irony of the so-called uniqueness of Singapore success that lives of lesser mortals are clogged more with debt with lower and more stressful living while the wheel spins fortunes for the Rich, Powerful and Elite. This is perhaps the “spur in hides” of the citizens, a plunging current generation into greater debt for the so-called “nation stake” so that they have to strive harder and harder, keeping the wheel of “fortune” or debt spinning till they drop dead. Baron of ‘Nation” Ultimately the “Nation” will become a city dominated by Barons, the Barons consisting of the Rich, Powerful and Elite where land is only a lease for place to work for the citizens and foreigners. The rich immigrants who are fortunate will become the future barons. From cradle to death, this present and future generation of majority of citizens will have nothing while the barons get richer. There will be no Nation, NO CITY. Instead, Singapore is just a place own by these barons-it will become a Baron State. They will be the landlord of the future. Collective Strength Are we in a conundrum of voting-damned if we vote PAP out, damned if we do not? A catch-22 situation, if PAP fails to have strong mandate, citizens will face with greater pains through the remaining rule of PAP.  Is that why the slate of cost increases across-board, a warning to the citizens of such infliction upon them if they do not get a full mandate? Fear NO MORE, we are one Nation. We need to be brave to find back the One Heart and Soul of the Nation. We need to disband the fear, the cowardice in us that PAP has imbued through years of political suppression. We need to recover our WILL, the WILL to speak and exert our rights of Citizen that has been usurped. We need the guidance of the history, the insight of the future, the identity and respect of who we are. We need to marshal all our COLLECTIVE WILL to make this Singapore for Singaporeans. We need to excise the cancer within PAP or PAP itself if PAP does not listen to our COLLECTIVE VOICE. Our collective voice is our Strength. The stronger the Voice, it feeds the fuel of inner power in us. Fear only fuel Fear. We need to replace fear with collective strength, collective will-a strength that permeates within and across everyone that it becomes intuitively as ONE POWER within. Do not underestimate the POWER of collective consciousness. This collective strength is NOT an insurrection, NOT an act of sedition. It is the part of the Heart and Soul of the Nation. Our collective identity and assertiveness is awakening, partly coming of age of adolescence for the younger generation and, partly, as a result of an awakening of older generation from the past political suppression. The collective voice seeks to redress the situation with PAP. It is a confrontation for better Nation. PAP needs to change, attune to the new collective voice or risk lose itself completely, casting the character and identity of the Nation cast into oblivion, leaving only the PAP whose shadow darkens every live. A Nation devoid of character and spirit of Nation, only PAP glows in darkness of the soullessness of the Nation. Is this the “Nation” we want? While instilling FEAR to destroy political space, money politics is increasingly used as powerful incentive to keep votes. Citizens, out of no choice, are forced to take huge financial stake in their home. This is one way subjugate them in future, playing the master roulette of wealth pandering to human weakness-GREED. The stakers are forever at the mercy of the Great Master. The Grand Master lackey has said times and again only when citizens gave him strong mandate would he try to make lives better for citizens, holding the citizen ransom to his grand manipulation. Casino was once damned by Grand Master as the Evil Vice of the Nation. We have now Casinos in IR where “dollar and sense” is now seemed to be consecrated as Savior of the “Nation” within the three towering tomb-like tablet edifices of the IR. It is the testimony of material justification of existence-an illusion of wealth, vindication of PAP existence or an omen for bad things ahead. Driven relentlessly in the past, even the zombies are strained in physique, the strain is slowly awakening their senses. The Grand Master is now desperate, now realized the semi-zombies in various stratums of society are awakening, no longer listening to his tunes of orchestration. The younger generation is less intoxicated by political dosages are standing with the will of their own, realizing the times for change have come to fight for their well-being, to dispel disbanding political apathy that have smothered the nation into zombie-like state. They represent the hope of the Nation-the hope of the next and future generation. The wheel of fortune must now be spun not within the hands of ONE ABOSULUTE ruler. It must be spun with the collective hands of the citizens who will decide how the mechanism of wheel will spin with lesser debts to citizens, befitting the living standard and lives of the Nation. The time for change has come: Singaporeans MUST always come FIRST. A Nation in the hand of ONE party cannot rule with rationale for Singaporean First policy where there exists conflict of interest of self-perpetuity of PAP. SINGAPOREAN INTEREST must come FIRST in any policy-making. It must as this is our ONLY land, ONLY home. The Land which belongs to all citizens which has been arrogated by the Grand Master must now be reinstated to the Citizens. Never fear that without PAP there is NO growth and the Nation will collapse. We need to dispel the bogeyman in our mind-this fear in us. On the contrary, our Nation will collapse at the rate the wheel of delusional wealth is spun to its limits. The Grand Master now capitalizes on the rationale of wealth creation-the “feel good to be rich” illusion. There will be up and downs, challenges, but the Nation will prevail without PAP with collective will or we wait till the sorrowful day when it will be too late to even re-build a Nation. But if PAP enjoins with the collective will of the citizens, listen to the collective voice, the Nation will survive the turbulence better, emerge stronger if the “cancer” in PAP can be removed. The Grand Master must no longer smirks at its own citizens, those he deems as lesser mortals, giving mostly to those who fawn upon and serve him. He must once again be the same Grand Master that fought with the citizens, the very own people of the same kind he now scorned. Nation Will Never Collapse Growth spans a lifetime, a few generations. Acknowledging the limits of growth are constrained by slow population growth rate, why is there need to hastily increase such sudden huge foreign influx that disrupts the fabric of the Nation? Surely there is way to weave the fabric of growth in pace and tune with the heart and soul of the Nation-unless there is something sinister, ominous lurking beneath the façade of the ‘rationale” of the Grand Master. This Pearl of Asia, Singapore, will never collapse with collective will of Nation BUT it will collapse if the WILL of the Nation is destroyed, in the grand scheme of the one and only one so-called Grand Master. Regardless of how omnipotent PAP in its self-proclamation, the destiny of the Nation is citizen choice, including the VOICE OF THE SUPPRESSED. Only when the cancer is eliminated will the true body of governance for the citizens without partisan self-interest can be reinstated. Like in our body the cancer must be removed, for the mind and biology of the body to once again slowly recuperate and work in sync. Over times the body and mind of the Nation, the Heart and Soul, will heal, the will of citizens will once again be the force of Nation destiny as it once was and the Law of Governance will once again be fair and just, not favor PAP. The jade of the Nation will be re-polished with vigor and once again glows after healing through lower growth period of convalescence. There will be pain in the process of change, ups and downs, as the Nation heals. It will emerge into a more politically active state that will uplift Nation, bring hope to the future generation that Singapore will no longer be a “place” only to work- no citizen will be a stranger in his own home. A nation once again glorifies proudly as a Nation. The Rich, Powerful and Elite can always go elsewhere to make the billions if they are not happy. There will always be lesser better immigrants who will come and help build the nation. There will always be immigrants who will come regardless of the policy crafted in the manner that befits SINGAPOREAN first. There is no need to prostitute our civil and citizen rights and privileges. We need to tilt the scale of immigration policy which presently benefits mostly the PAP, the Rich, Elite and Powerful. The Nation can afford to moderate in growth, bring down cost of livings, heals the wounds of the Nation caused by the present policy. We do NOT need polices that rammed the day-light out of so many citizen lives in name of progress. We have the infrastructure to attract immigrant in moderation, to grow in moderation. We need space, time and resources to re-invent, not being spurred tiredly to make ends meet. We need hope we can be a NATION of Swiss Standard as promised, NOT a LAND only Baron owned in the future, only RICH and ELITE dictates the course of citizens lives.
