It is not surprising that Trump has increased China's...

This is not a game of cardsThis is not a game of cards I can appreciate parties wanting to hold their cards close to their chest, but the smoke and mirrors games on nominations day, the shuffling of the DPM from a seat he had openly been declared to be defending, and other ministers shuffling constituencies leaves one feeling the PAP thinks it is playing a game of cards.

Cwc-Ai

The Singapore government is such a coward

The Singapore government is such a coward

The Singapore government does not dare to charge the Taiwanese media which claimed that Ho Ching is earning S$99 million a year, but has decided to charge the Singaporean independent media and opposition who shared the news by the Taiwanese media, with the anti-fake news law, POFMA. Amidst all these, the Singapore government decides to charge all the Singaporeans with POFMA, but it still does not want to reveal how much Ho Ching earns. By not being honest about how much Ho Ching earns, does that not mean the Singapore government is not being truthful? The Singapore government is such a coward. It knows its oppressive laws does not have any power overseas, so it chooses to use its laws to bully Singaporeans instead. And it still does not want to tell the truth. This is such a disgrace.   Roy Ngerng      Read More →

8014 total Covid-19 cases in Singapore with record 1426 new infections

8014 total Covid-19 cases in Singapore with record 1426 new infections

Singapore has breached the 8000 cases barrier after the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced another daily record of 1024 new cases for Monday (20 Apr @ 12 pm), bringing the total to 8014. In its latest reports, MOH has completely removed the details for the individual cases, making it impossible to calculate the exact number of un-linked cases for the reported period. The only official information available for the cases are: Linked to known clusters: 63% (898.38) * Un-linked cases: 37% (527.62) ** * The number derived from the percentage (63% of 1426 = 898.38) is inaccurate with a possible margin of error of about 8 cases. As such, the number of linked cases can be anywhere between 890 to 906 cases. To understand why, please read the lines highlighted in red in this article.. ** Un-linked cases are derived from the percentage of linked cases provided by MOH, its accuracy highly dependent on the percentage provided for linked cases. The number of un-linked cases can be anywhere from 519 to 535. To understand why, please read the lines highlighted in red in this article.. However, what can be derived from the information in MOH's daily situation report (assuming all cases in dormitories are linked cases via internal community-spread), are: Linked cases in community: 24 out of total 784 Un-linked cases in community: 33 out of total 586 Linked cases in dormitories: 1369 out of total 6075 Imported cases (linked and un-linked): 0 out of total 569 The above "total" is calculated from day 1 of the outbreak, regardless of nationality. For example, there are a total of 586 un-linked cases in the community since day 1 to date of report. Daily Active Cases (+ive) Total active cases: 7202 of 8014 Hospitalised cases: 3397 Critical cases (ICU): 23 Isolation cases ***: 3782 Recovered cases: 801 Death cases: 11 *** Patients who are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. MOH has also changed the format of its daily situation update to merely announcing the total number of new cases and then grouping the figures into 3 meaningless and confusing categories, namely community, dorms-related and non-dorms-related. Cases in the community: 25 (18 Singaporeans/Permanent Residents [1] and 7 Work Passes) The number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 39 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 29 per day in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has remained relatively constant, with an average of 20 cases per day for the past two weeks. We will continue to closely monitor these numbers, as well as the cases detected through our surveillance programme. Work Permit holders (residing outside dormitories): 32 The number of new cases amongst Work Permit holders residing outside dormitories has continued to increase, from an average of 13 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 24 per day in the past week. Work Permit holders (residing in dormitories): 1,369 The main increase today continues to be for Work Permit holders residing in dormitories, where we are picking up many more cases because of extensive testing. These are not new infections as the workers are staying in their rooms and many have not reported sick. But when the teams go in to test them, many turn out to be positive. Most of these cases have a mild illness and are being monitored in the community isolation facilities or general ward of our hospitals. None of them is in the intensive care unit.  ** Note that the 3 figures listed above include both linked and un-linked cases. Known Clusters An additional 3 new clusters were announced, namely Jurong Apartments, Woodlands Lodge II and 8 Sungei Kadut Loop. There are currently 80 known clusters (as of 20th April @ 12 pm). On What Basis Has Heng Swee Keat POFMAD Me Over Ho Ching’s Salary?

Yesterday, at 6.01 pm, I received an email from the POFMA office informing me that “New Taxes” Heng Swee Keat had issued a POFMA Notice against me for sharing an article by The Online Citizen( “TOC”) last Wednesday, 15 April, which reported that the Taiwanese Media had said that Ho Ching’s was $99 million a year. The notice claimed that this was false. On what basis does Heng Swee Keat say that this information is false? Lawrence Wong said in Parliament when responding to a WP query on Ho Ching’s salary that the government did not interfere with the remuneration of the management of Temasek and that this was left to the Board of Temasek to decide. And on what public interest basis is “New Taxes” Heng now POFMAING me over Ho Ching’s salary since Temasek is supposed to be a “private-exempt” company? So the government has the right to issue POFMAs over the business of a “private” company? Is Ho Ching considered a civil servant or part of government, that the government deems it necessary to issue a POFMA? Singaporeans can now see from this disgraceful episode, how a supposedly “private-exempt” company, which nevertheless holds money belonging to the People Of Singapore is able to enjoy the protection of the Government and not have to disclose the remuneration of its management to the stakeholders- the People Of Singapore. Around 441 people shared my post, sharing TOC’s article. Please let me know if anyone else has been POFMAD over sharing this article?Or is it just me and TOC who have been POFMAD? Has Heng Swee Keat also POFMAD the Taiwanese media which first claimed that Ho Ching earns $99 million a year? And if not, why not?   Lim Tean      Read More →
