Written by Our Correspondent A reader of Temasek Review has put up a cash award of USD$1,000 for any documentary information pertaining to YPAP member Mr Sear Hock Rong's business deals with Eunos grassroots organizations, which can prove that the transaction was questionable and not above board. An additional bonus of US$1000 will be paid if these documents leads to his arrest and conviction. Mr Sear is a YPAP member and moderator of the YPAP Facebook Network. He is also the Chairman of Eunos Community Club Youth Executive Committee. Mr Sear runs an education service company together with a partner Mr Fong Yoong Keong who is the Vice Chairman of Eunos Community Club and Assistant Secretary of Eunos Zone ‘3′ RC: The company was registered on 15 July 2009 this year according to information from the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore, or ACRA. According to information posted on Mr Sear’s company website, his start-up has 24 clients so far, nearly a third of which are grassroots organizations in Eunos. Netizens questioned how Mr Sear has managed to clinch the tender for these grassroots organizations when his company is less than 6 months old and if proper procedures have been followed. Despite numerous requests to do so, Mr Sear refused to clarify matters and challenged netizens to report to him to the authorities instead. The Temasek Review has compiled a list of ten questions for Mr Sear Hock Rong to answer based on the People Association's operating guidelines for the acquisition of services for external vendors, but Mr Sear said TR is not the "right platform" for him to "explain anything to anybody". We then offered to provide Mr Sear the “right platform” for him to clear up the doubts surrounding his business dealings with the Eunos grassroots organizations. Mr Sear need only tell us the desired place, date and time and we will book the venue for him. The event will be opened to the public who can field their questions to Mr Sear to answer directly and we offer to pay Mr Sear $100 per hour to grace the event. Till today, Mr Sear has not given us a reply yet. So long he has not stepped forward to clarify this matter which is of intense public interest, we will continue to harp on the topic and escalate up to the higher authorities. Dear Madam,        1.       I refer to your email of 20 Dec 09. 2.       The blocks that you have mentioned (Blocks 32 and 33 Toa Payoh Lor 5) were announced for Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS) as part of the Government's Estate Renewal Strategy. After they are vacated, SERS blocks are demolished according to the redevelopment plans.  Pending demolition, the flats are put to interim short-term use. 3.       As these flats will be demolished eventually, they are less suitable for HDB's Public Rental Scheme as the tenants would then have to move in a few years time. To meet the demand for rental flats under the Public Rental Scheme, HDB will be building 7,500 units of new 1-room and 2-room rental flats in the next 3 years. 4.       Besides the 2 blocks mentioned, there is another vacated SERS block (block 28) which has been set aside for Interim Rental Housing (IRH). IRH provides temporary housing for citizen families with financial difficulties, in particular, those who are moving from their current flat to another flat that is financially sustainable for them. The IRH flats are offered to these households below the market rent. 5.        The managing agent, EM Services Pte Ltd, rents out all other flats at market rent, except for IRH. There are no special rental concessions.  The average monthly rent for each flat is about $1,500, which is the market rate. 6.        These blocks are leased out on a short term basis, pending the future redevelopment of the site. Written by Our Correspondent In a desperate bid to boost its flagging readership and to distract Singaporeans from important national issues, the state media has resorted to giving extensive publicity to an online sex predator using the moniker "Gary Ng" to attract readers to its site. Gary Ng shot to infamy earlier this year by posting his sexual encounters with women online. His partners came from various backgrounds from professionals, students to beer-ladies. He even claimed to have had sex with a mother and her daughter on two different occasions including his own niece. In an interview with SPH's RazorTV, Mr Ng (not his real name) said he did so as a form of "revenge" against women who betrayed him in past relationships: "I had a few serious relationships which I've spent about 10 years on....One of the hardest blows came from this sex video that I happened to see through her ex-boyfriend which happened overseas. He sent me a link to a video in which my girlfriend was having sexual intercourse with another guy." Mr Ng admitted he was devastated by his past relationships which caused him to seek "solace" in endless partying and clubbing. In less than a year, he claimed he had 50 sex partners – including polytechnic students, undergraduates and high-flying executives. The women, he said, were attracted to him because he ‘grooms himself well’ and drives a ‘nice car’ – a Nissan GTR. He started filming his sex trysts – taken mostly at home or at hotels – for his own viewing pleasure, and later decided to post them online due to "overwhelming" response from netizens. Besides the interview with Gary Ng whose face was masked, the RazorTV clip also contains explict photos of women clad in revealing clothes, some with nothing more than a bra covering the top. It is unsure if the state media is trying to promote promiscuity or to encourage Singaporeans to procreate with this latest gimmick. If RazorTV is so desperate for news, it can try to interview YPAP member Sear Hock Rong on his spat with 3in1kopitiam forumers, MM Lee on his infamous remarks about Singaporeans being "less hard-driving and hard-striving" than PRC immigrants or Mark Chow on his grassroots work with Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC which will surely be a hit among netizens.
