As far as the tackling of C19 is concerned, the New Zealand and the Hongkong governments are exemplary. When the C19 situations in India started to deteriorate in recent days with the 2nd wave onslaught and their respective imported C19 cases started to rise, they acted decisively to ban all flights coming in from India. No if and no but. Back home, what about the pap government? The pap government continued to allow flights from India to land. Their sense of crisis and danger were not heighten enough. They merely required incoming passengers from India to serve an additional 7 days of quarantine and the Straits Times was again, very predictably, sang along the government's position with headline screaming '21 day SHN will pick up virtually all cases from India: Experts'- page A2, Straits Times, 22 April 21. All that took a 180 degrees turn that very same evening. Last evening, the online CNA news reported that 'All long term pass holders and short term visitors with travel history to India within the last 14 days will not be allowed entry into Singapore from 24 April 21'- MOH. I ask if that was not again pap's political incompetence and impotence on full display at the highest political level, then what is? Can they cover up their impotence on this one? Unfortunately, cannot la. Singaporeans have sacrificed much and rendered much co-operation with the authorities to enable us to ease up on our CB. If ever we have to return back to dorscon orange again and impose CB on our people in our fight to contain C19 with even more companies going under, even more people losing their jobs and the government dipping into our reserves again etc, I will remember that our government failed to act decisively to ban flights and/or travellers from India unlike numerous other countries. I will put the blame 100% on the lack of effective political leadership and incompetence of this government! I believe that many right thinking citizens are likely to come to the same conclusion. Unless one is dead, there will come a time for even hardcore suckers to wake-up and face whatever unpleasant realities that they have been in denial and that time has come for our suckers. Daniel De Costa (right) Appended is the fundraiser link of Daniel De Costa who is facing the 2nd half of his TOC defamation trial next Monday at 9am, State Courts. He has consistently stood against the oppressive powers since we knew each other back in 2006, when we first joined the Opposition and he always had a heart for the underdog. He has helped raise numerous grievances on the ground since then and obtained resolutions on behalf of others from an otherwise, unresponsive regime. This is just one such instance of his work on the ground. All these, he does without fear or favour. He has now been shamed, humiliated and degraded on State media and by one of the people he has helped who turned star prosecution witness. He is thus in need of our help now. He unfortunately does not broadcast or showcase his deeds and not many may know about him until his untimely arrest in November 2018. He will not be able to sustain livelihood and that of his widowed mother without your kind generosity. Angela Merkel Crystal ball CB said - Boss. Please share with LHL. With six minutes of warm applause, on the streets, balconies, windows, the whole Country applauded for 6 minutes - spectacular example of leadership and defense of humanity, chapeaux ! The Germans elected her to lead them, and she led 80 million Germans for 18 years with competence, skill, dedication and sincerity. She did not utter nonsense. She did not appear in the alleys of Berlin to be photographed. She was dubbed "The Lady of the World" and who was described as the equivalent of six million men. During these eighteen years of her leadership of the authority in her Country, no transgressions were recorded against her. She did not assign any of her relatives to a government post. She did not claim that she was the maker of glories. She did not get millions in payment, nor did anyone cheer her performance, she did not receive charters and pledges, she did not fight those who preceded her. Yesterday, Merkel left the party leadership position and handed it over to those after her, and Germany and it's German people are in the best condition ever. The reaction of the Germans was unprecedented in the history of the Country. The entire population went out to their balconies of their houses and clapped for her spontaneously for 6 continuous minutes. A standing ovation nationwide. Germany stood as one body bidding farewell to their leader, a chemical physicist who was not tempted by the fashion or the lights and did not buy real estate, cars, yachts and private planes, knowing that she is from former East Germany. She left her post after leaving Germany at the top. She left and her relatives did not claim advantage. Eighteen years and she never changed her wardrobe. God be upon this silent leader. At a press conference, a female Journalist asked Merkel : We notice that you're wearing the same suit, don’t you have any other? She replied: "I am a government employee and not a model" At another press conference, they asked her : Do you have housemaids who clean your house, prepare your meals and so on? Her answer was: "No, I do not have servants and I do not need them. My husband and I do this work at home every day. Then another journalist asked : Who is washing the clothes, you or your husband? Her answer: "I arrange the clothes, and my husband is the one who operates the washing machine, and it is usually at night, because electricity is available and there is no pressure on it, and the most important thing is to take into the account the possible inconvenience for the neighbours, thankfully the wall separating our apartment from the neighbours is thick. She said to them, "I expected you to ask me about the successes and failures in our work in the government??" Mrs. Merkel lives in a normal apartment like any other citizen. She lived in this apartment before being elected Chancellor of Germany. She did not leave it and does not own a villa, servants, swimming pools or gardens.
